Aspect by Lafferty Communities consists of 18 custom residences nestled among the scenic hills of Sonoma County. As multiple phases of the development unfolded, the steep terrain proved to be challenging for site preparation and slope stabilization, particularly for Lot 12 on Oak Knoll Court, a site planned for a spacious 5,578-square-foot home with three stories, a 5-car garage, and outdoor living space.

When other companies declined to build on Lot 12, Lafferty Communities called CalWalls. While our team agreed that a standard spread-foot, bottom-up approach was not feasible, we brought the expertise and technology to build an innovative solution that saved time and money. Using GS2 block built on helical barrels, with Geobrugg Tecco mesh anchored with helical tieback stabilization drilled 30+ feet into the hillside, our crews were able to start with the top walls and work down. The precise, vertical cuts involved with this approach required substantially less excavation, backfill, and clearance for each of the 20+-foot walls.
